"A kidney stone being removed"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency Chesterfield Royal Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I’m from Telford and was at my Partners house in chesterfield, I started to have the most horrible, sickening  kidney pain ever . I came to A+E early July to be treated and went to SAU after that when I was told I was to stay in hospital and have emergency surgery the day after. I was scared and felt so poorly. I am scared about having any type of surgery but the staff really made me feel like everything was going to be ok.

I want to say to the staff ( health cares , ST nurse’s, Nurses , sisters , doctors ) on SAU during my stay and the incredible theatre staff that helped me on the day of the surgery a massive thank you from the bottom of my heart . I will never forget the way I was cared for.

Good afternoon,

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, I am the Senior Matron for SAU, I will pass this on to the staff on the ward, positive feedback makes such a difference to the staff who work so hard. I'm so glad you got your kidney stone removed and hope you are now on the road to recovery.

Again thank you for your feedback

Many thanks

Stacie Russon

Update posted by februaryxc96 (the patient)

I would love to bring a thank you card and pressie for the staff of SAU and theatre. How do I go about this? Can I just walk on to ward and give?

That would be lovely and yes at present we are allowing visitors onto the wards, if you ask for the Matron of the Nurse In Charge, they will come and have a chat to you, they would love to hear your story

Many thanks

Stacie
