"Useless trying to get an appt via Dr IQ app "

About: Streatham High Practice

I left a online consultation on the app at 12pm, said I wanted to discuss my 3.5 year old son who had fever and what seemed like delirium last night, but I wasn't sure as haven't experienced it before.

Got a message back saying they don't have any appts before 3pm, and to take call 111 to take him to hospital if I am worried.

I tried to submit another request clarifying that I just wanted a tel call to discuss my worries and see if I need to take to hospital. I am undergoing chemotherapy so have been told not to go to A&E unless life threatening, due to high risk of catching infections and being admitted to hospital myself.

I was unable to even submit this request, got a message saying they are at full capacity and can't take any more requests today. As per the app rules, all requests submitted before 3pm have to be responded to on the same day.

The doctors at good if you can get through to them- but it's an absolute nightmare making an appt with them, as it's usually the admin team and pharmacists who respond.

I have previously had extremely bad experiences with them myself too, I was unable to talk to a doctor despite coughing up blood for 2 weeks, I kept getting calls from pharmacists who told me it sounded like a chest infection. Eventually I took the initiative to go to hospital myself where a chest x-ray showed a cancerous tumour. I believe I could have been diagnosed earlier if I had managed to get an appt with an actual doctor.
