"I couldn't ask for better care"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Urology

(as the patient),

I had an appointment in urology on Monday morning. For a cystoscopy and as there have been some ongoing problems for me with getting a catheter inserted I was a bit anxious to say the least. However the staff there were so helpful &  friendly and put me at ease right away. The consultant Mr Cox was really great. It was quite difficult for him due to a constriction that has been causing problems. I really appreciated his persistence and care. He gave some very wise advice (against) on possibly going private and I really appreciated his wisdom and caution on that route. I really felt for him as it was a bit of a struggle but I am thankful for his skill. After wards he took the time to explain everything and what they plan next. He has put me on the urgent list- and down to accept a cancellation and I believe he is doing all within his means to get the problems sorted. So I want to say a BIG thank you to all the team there. I couldn't have asked for better care

It is really great to see that the staff you encountered were so helpful and friendly that they put you at ease after coming to your appointment feeling anxious. I am pleased to see that you had such a positive experience as Mr Cox explained everything including the next plan.

I am writing to you as a member of the Patient Experience team, but I will ensure your feedback is forwarded to the appropriate team - I am sure they will all be pleased to receive it. We will also make sure that Mr Cox gets a special 'thank you' through our Learning from Excellence scheme.
