"Allowed the patient to make a clear and informed choice"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Gynaecology (Ward 13)

(as a volunteer/advocate),

I accompanied a Syrian female patient, as a North Lanarkshire befriender, to a consultation in gynaecology, at Wishaw General Hospital. The patient I was with was given a very thorough and sensitively handled interview, using a mobile interpreter, who was able to translate all the doctor's questions. This allowed the patient to make a clear and informed choice about the next stage in her treatment.

I felt Dr.Rajagopal handled this appointment professionally and compassionately, and was able to put the patient at her ease and give her expert information in an easily presented way.

Good morning Normw96

Many thanks for your exceptionally kind feedback via Care Opinion regarding the care and treatment you witnessed when you supported your friend whilst she attended a consultation in the Gynaecology Unit, at University Hospital Wishaw.

I am so happy our staff were able to put your friend at ease and with the help of a mobile interpreter conduct the consultation in a caring and professional manner.

It will be my pleasure to share your kind words of encouragement with Dr.Rajagopal and the staff involved in the care of your friend.

Thank you again and I wish you and your friend my good wishes.

Kind regards

Jean
