I was referred to MHAATS by my GP as a result of suicidal thoughts and self harm tendencies relating to/caused by various personal issues. Whilst receiving treatment from MHAATS I became familiar with the majority of the team who desired nothing but my improvement, which was achieved at a very fast rate. It is in fact a speed that surprises me to think about. They were very supportive, welcoming, and understanding. It was a high level of personalised care that I did not know existed in the NHS and I am incredibly grateful to have received such support in a time of utmost need. I have been listened to with patience and expertly guided towards recovery and further relevant treatment. Without this service, I do not believe I would be alive.
