"A great ward"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Female Medical

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I came in early Saturday morning due to an infection and breathlessness. I do not remember accident and emergency as I collapsed.

Female medical is a great ward. The food has been 1st class. The ward is very clean and has a very good level of care. A working TV would be great as I do not know how to work the remote. I felt like the physios didn't seem to care much, I felt treated like a number on a page. I am not kept in the loop of my medication or my condition.

The staff are such a mixture, some good and some not so good. Majority are good though. They look happy to be in their jobs.

What more could they do, there is no improvements.

thank you for your feedback I'm glad your stay has been mostly good

at any time you don't feel up to date with your medical condition or medication there are several ways we can combat this

1) please ask your consultant on his daily ward round to please explain what your condition is and what treatment you are getting

2) ask the pharmacist that do daily checks on your medication to explain any changes

3) ask your nurse to sit down and explain your condition what treatment you are getting and any changes to your medication

if you still feel not up to date please feel free anytime to ask to speak to any of the clinical sisters or the ward manager and we will take the time to explain, we feel every patient should know exactly what medical treatment they are getting or going to receive

I will lease back with my manager and staff about the mixture of staff attitudes and hope to improve on this going forward

best wishes
