"Amazing Sonographer made the experience so special"

I attended my 12 week scan toward the end of April at Hairmyres Maternity Day Unit.

I want to say a massive thank you to our sonographer Angela who made the experience so special and enjoyable. 

Angela kept us informed throughout the entire process of what she was looking at, what was happening and reassuring us every step of the way that everything was fine with baby. She was so informative and most importantly so kind and reassuring. She was so excited for us and honestly made us feel like we were the first couple she had done a scan for because she was so excited and made us feel so special. 

Unfortunately this couldn't be further from the experience we had with our scans with our first son at Wishaw General. During these scans we were barely spoken to and at the end of each scan we had to ask if baby was ok because we had not been told anything, there was a complete lack of communication and care. 

Every expectant parent deserves to be treated how Angela treats her patients. NHS Lanarkshire should take this opportunity to share Angela's practice with others and allow other sonographers to learn from her. Angela is an invaluable asset to the NHS and every opportunity to encourage others to care for patients as she does should be taken.
