I had the privilege of having my son's now aged 2.5 and 12 months in my home with the support of southern trust midwives. I felt so informed and supported in my choice to have my baby at home. I never once regretted my decision, even in the height of labour! Watching my children meeting their baby brother, minutes old, was a memory I'll cherish forever.
Another huge advantage was hopping into my own shower and bed after giving birth, with the food of my choice, and some bucks fizz! Was also an amazing memory...but better than all of that, was the incredible care provided from the midwives who supported my during my two births. They were all so kind, empathetic and calming. Their presence was so reassuring, and they were so positive, despite being woken from their sleep in the middle of the night on both occasions!
"Positive birth experience"
