"Disgusting Appointment system"

I suffer with various types of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia to name a few. My last appointment with rheumatology was in 2019, which was cancelled, I received several appointments during 2020, 2021 but all were cancelled several weeks before my appointment date and not heard anything since.. I rang rheumatology in May 2022 asking for an appointment which was given for June, I received a cancellation of this appointment last week and another appointment was given on 12 July. I have had several arthritic flares the last being this week. My right hand was so swollen and painful I could not even wash properly. I am 73 yrs old, GPs only give phone appts and they are extremely difficult to get also. I have spent so much money on various pain relief over the counter and hot and cold compresses to the affected part of my body. I have paid all of my NI payments during my working life which was approximately 48 yrs. Disgusting and when you do receive an appointment it states that if you cancel etc you will be referred back to your GP.
