Attended Hairmyres for long awaited surgery on my foot.

Helpful and friendly staff from the minute I stepped through the main doors, from the staff pointing me in the right direction towards day surgery unit to the receptionist, clinical support workers, nurses, anaesthetists and doctors/surgeon. Staff were professional but warm and reassuring, and any concerns I had were addressed.

I had particular fears re anaesthesia during surgery and the anaesthetist did everything in his power to allay my fears. I greatly appreciated this, and the anaesthetic nurse constantly stroking my arm and talking to me (as well as the anaesthetist constantly reassuring me) made all the difference.

I'm most grateful to my surgeon Mr McLeod who has listened to my wishes and discussed any concerns re surgery in depth at clinic visits and was amazing on the day.

I feel very lucky to have had such great care from such a great team. Thank you.
