"Hero's on the children's ward"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Children's Ward

(as a service user),

My 10 month old daughter was admitted to the childrens ward last weekend after being sent from a&e at another hospital. When she was admitted with vomiting, diarrhoea and consistently low blood sugar we had no idea what was causing it or why. Having spent all morning in a&e and then arriving on the ward around 2.30 myself and my partner were extremely stressed and worried about my daughter. The nurses on the ward honestly couldn’t have been any nicer, they were so friendly and calm that it instantly made us feel like my daughter was in safe hands. After being there a few hours she vomited all over the bed, chair, floor and made such a mess. She was very upset but the nurse on at the time who’s name was Grant if I remember correctly was so good with her. She was kept in overnight and in the morning we found out she had covid which explained a few of her symptoms and we were allowed to take her home once she was able to take in and keep down some food and liquid. Every single member of staff on that ward made one of the most worrying weekends of my life a little less stressful. They were so kind to both my daughter, her dad & myself and I can’t thank them enough. They really don’t get enough credit for the fantastic work they do. Absolute hero’s
