More exceptional care from LV Phone First ED Dept. I have had a previous and extremely positive experience and yet again, the high quality and personalised care provided by the amazing staff shone through.
Following a hand injury at the gym, I phoned at 8am, offered an appointment at 8:30, triaged immediately, assessed by Nurse Practitioner Audrey with x-ray complete by 8:45!
I was splinted and provided with an appointment at the Hand Clinic in the Ulster and was quickly in my way.
As I was going on holiday, the Hand clinic appointment was for 2 weeks time (usually one week). Lisa who was a member of the Admin team, kindly checked on the system for a cancellation at said clinic for the next day. Unfortunately the clinic was fully booked however she remained persistent and thoughtfully tried to contact them directly. Again to no avail with Lisa stating that she would keep trying throughout the day.
I was delighted when Lisa’s colleague Valerie contacted me at 2pm to offer me an appointment at the Hand Clinic due to a cancellation.
I am so very very grateful to everyone but particularly Lisa and Valerie who were tenacious, determined, thoughtful and kind and who went that extra mile for me.
Thank you lovely ladies, you are an asset to the department and patients like myself.
PS I love this service and I hope it is seen as the gold standard and replicated in other Trusts.
