"Would like more options of food"

About: Lurgan Hospital / Ward 2

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I arrived at lurgan a couple of weeks ago, I was brought over through the ED from the royal in Belfast. The ambulance was booked for 11am and I was took straight to lurgan at this time, so there was no waiting around, brilliant service. The food is okay, there is not a lot I can say it is just your standard dry chips and boring soup every day. I would like to see a change in the menu as I feel it is just becoming repetitive. The staff are all great, they cannot do enough for you and are always checking in to see if there is anything I need.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your feedback

I am glad to hear that your transfer from the Royal Hospital ED to Lurgan was efficient and did not cause you any distress.

I am extremely proud off all the staff members in Ward 2 Lurgan Hospital as throughout the busy periods and hard work we strive to ensure we deliver person centered care and also be mindful to communicate effectively with patients in our care.

I am sorry to hear that you are not enjoying your meals. I would advise you top speak with the allocated mealtimes nurse to discuss food choices for you. We would encourage you to ask your family to bring you in fridge items that can be kept and labelled for. We would not advise to bring in food that needs heated or foods ready made like salads/sandwiches as there is an increased risk of Listeria.

I will ensure I highlight the positivity of this review with all staff.

If You would like to discuss anything further please contact me on 07876545631

I would like to wish you a speedy recovery.

Kind Regards

Donna O'Neill
