"Emergency surgical admission"

About: New Stobhill Hospital / GP Out-of-Hours Emergency Service NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Surgical High Dependency Unit (SHDU) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Xrays and Scans

(as a service user),

I contacted NHS  24 as had I sudden acute abdominal pain. They were amazing. They quickly and efficiently arranged an appointment at Stobhill out of hours service. The on-call doctor very quickly recognised how unwell I was. She was efficient, kind and reassuring. I was referred to surgical assessment at QUEH.  The nurses and medical staff were amazing!! They were so concerned about my well being.  The ANP responsible for my care deserves a special mention for being so efficient and caring   Again everyone was so capable, professional and kind.

Then I was admitted to ward 9B. Every member of staff I met was kind, courteous and professional. Senior Charge Nurse Kimmett should be proud of her very efficient department and the staff who work there.

I also need to mention the team in the x-ray dept where I had several investigations. A very busy department, but every team member was concerned for my well being and tried hard to keep me comfortable. Two consultant surgeons were responsible for my care. Mr Park & Mr Alani both made me feel that I was in kind, capable hands and really had my best interests at the core of the care I received.

I would like to thank every one who dealt with me. Each team member makes the NHS an amazing place.
