(as a service user),

i was at rock bottom not wanting to live as i could not find away of getting off drink and drugs .what started as i high soon became depression. i lost everything and just wanted to die. after my last suicide attempt i was admitted to hospital then moved to aylesbury.  its been a long journey which i am still recovering but the help i received from Evie has been amazing.  Evie along with AA and Dona at connection have saved my life . Evie has helped me in everyway she can calling me often with kind and caring words of support and advice. i can call her when ever i am feeling low and she has always helped me to understand why i feel this way.she then would show me how well i am doing which would spear me on to a better day. without her and others i really dont think i would have made it this far in my recovery and for that i am truly grateful 🙏.

Dear Michael,

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Substance use can often become out of control and impact mental health, like it did you, its sounds like you have been in a very dark place. I am so please to hear that you reached out to us for support.

As Service Manager it is always great to hear positive feedback about Keyworkers, I will ensure Evie hears yours. It is great to hear Evie has been practicing our core values listening and caring, these values really do make a difference in people's care and treatment journeys.

It is really positive to hear you have made progress managing your drug and alcohol recovery, and also you mental health. Keep accessing all that is helping, we are always hear to listen.
