"Travel distance"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Cancer Services

(as a service user),

Every 8 weeks I have to travel to Barnstaple for an infusion, I live an hour away, I've found out that they do my treatment in a hospital where I work and I've asked for years to change.

I have to get my husband to take time of work as I cant drive after I have to find child care thats expensive if I was closer to home I could have treatment while kids were in school. the chemo ward are excellent and have no issues with them at all they are all lovely.

Dear Jodie198,

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. I am glad that your experience at the Seamoor Unit has been a positive one but I'm so sorry that you have been having to travel unnecessarily. If you have any problems transferring your infusions to the local hospital please get in contact with me via the Seamoor Unit - ndht.seamooradmin@nhs.net and I will speak to the relevant people.

Best wishes

Rhea
