GP sent me to hospital as my temperature and oxygen level became low. It was a very busy Friday evening. I am a wheelchair user with complex special needs and complex spinal issues with spinal rods, and rib cage rotating around rods. It’s very difficult for me when I get a cough as I am so twisted. I was treated with respect and kept informed of what had to be done. The staff were all lovely and extremely thorough and after a chest X-ray I was treated for a chest infection and ear inflammation. I was seen quickly and put on IV antibiotics, fluids and paracetamol and observed regularly. I was then sent home a few hours later with oral antibiotics and now feel much better.
I would just like to say a huge thank you to all the staff involved in my care and the radiologist who had such patience with me as I always get very agitated in a hospital scenario and am difficult to move. The staff were very aware, that although I had a respiratory illness they put me in a safe place away from covid patients.
It was an extremely busy Friday evening and the staff were very very busy but were so calm and friendly and professional in what they had to do. Well done as we know you are up against very difficult times. The last couple of years have been dreadful for all the staff.
Thank you
"Great service"
