The day after a routine blood test for arthritis treatment, I received a call from the Rheumatology Consultant at Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy. The blood result showed that my liver function needed immediate attention. He contacted my GP, and an ambulance soon arrived to take me to VHK.
I was examined, tested, and treated by a surgical team. I am now at home, and am recovering well. During my stay in hospital, it was discovered that further surgical and oncology treatment will probably be required. I am now awaiting information from the VHK or the RIE about this additional treatment.
I really appreciate the care and help I have had so far, especially that from
the Rheumatology Consultant for his diligence in spotting that I needed urgent attention in hospital.
