"poor communication between gynaecology and GP practice"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I had an initial telephone consultation in January 2022 after i had  scans in August 2021 and The Gynaecologist did not have these scans available to them. I made numerous telephone calls to the GP and i was reassured that these had been sent to the Gynae department.

I was followed by a hysteroscopy and they did not have the previous scans again and i contacted the GP to send these through to QMC. From the hysteroscopy i was suggested that the Fibroid  cover 50% of the cavity but they need the previous ultrasound scans to see the sizes of the other fibroids. recommendation for surgery was given. 

I have made numerous phone call to the Benign Gynecology service and the  Gynaecologist Secretaries and i have left numerous massage for the department to  contact me but i have not hand any response and the phones are not answered at all. I am in pain and awaiting surgery and with all this happening i don't every know if i am on the waiting list  or how long  it is or if they have access to all the scan required to get to that decision. I am in so much pain and the quality of my life is not good at all and i just want to know  or at least speak to a clinician for the department.
