"Midwives made my stay in hospital a breeze"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Maternity care Royal Jubilee Maternity services

(as the patient),

I took a big bleed when I was 24 weeks pregnant with my baby girl, an Ambulance was rung and I was rushed to labour ward in Altnagalvin.  I spent one night in the labour ward and one night in antenatal.  I was transferred to the royal for 3 weeks and was then back in Altnagalvin for 9 weeks.

The care I received between the two hospitals was incredible and we really take the NHS for granted! Them midwives are really earth angels! They made my stay in hospital a breeze.

Hi Hannah Mc,

Thank you for taking the time out to give us such wonderful feedback, it is very much appreciated.

At such a worrying time in your pregnancy, I am so glad that the whole team across the two hospitals were able to keep you and your baby safe and provide such an excellent standard of care.

I hope you are enjoying every minute back in your own home with your new baby.

Congratulations!

Shonagh Clifford

Update posted by HannahMc (the patient)

Thank you both very much! The care was phenomenal! My placenta actually abrupted in the end, a wee while before my planned c-section! Even then I was scared but still everybody was reassuring me and making me feel safe! It was tough, little Evie joan was born and had to stay in neonatal for a week! The staff looked after her really well and I was able to stay all day and night with her when I had recovered. I really appreciate everything all the staff had done for me - even the cleaners would always stop to have a conversation! We all have bad days but you would of never known. Absolute angels who deserve so much more appreciation for the work you do!
