"Really rude attitudes "

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

It’s actually really upsetting the way staff in the A&E department treat you. Visited here today with my partner who was experiencing very bad stomach pains. Attended A&E. Nurse in the care centre was so rude she asked me to wait outside which is understandable when I replied back mentioning that’s fine no problem she turned around and said “what did you say” as if she was about to fight me. Then turned around and shut the door on my face. This happened around 16:00 on Saturday the 21ST. We was then sent to the urgent care centre and was seen by a GP who said my partner may be having experiencing appendix pains which may need to be removed. She was also really rude and I wouldn’t let us talk or explain the issue. The she asked us to go back to A&E we was just really walking up and down the hospital and not given answers I’m really upset with the treatment we have received it’s like we’re constantly bullied and mistreated it’s really unfair on the People who work so hard with amazing attitudes and there’s some who really make the hospital look bad. It’s like if you don’t want to work on your weekend helping patients. Why would you it’s honestly not fair. We was really struggling getting him to walk up and down the hospital. Really disappointing! We was then seen by a surgeon who was amazing! I wouldn’t advice you to attend unless your in need for urgent treatment and it’s the last option.

Dear Esra

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your feedback following your recent visit to the A&E Department with your partner. What you have described falls way below the standards we aspire to. We will share your comments with our A&E Staff and the Urgent Care Centre Staff (managed by North East London Foundation Trust), so that they are made aware of your experience. If you would like to raise this further, please do not hesitate to contact Whipps Cross Hospital PALS Team via email to wxpals.bartshealth@nhs.net or by telephone 020 8535 6438 for assistance.

Kind regards
