I went into labour and had 2 visits to the maternity assessment unit overnight before being admitted and subsequently having an emergency c section for foetal distress which was complicated by excess blood loss.
I felt that the care I received on the labour ward was excellent. Everyone including midwives, obstetricians and anaesthetists were very clear in their communication and reassuring in their manner. I did not have to wait long for an epidural when I asked for it.
Postnatal care was also good. The staff on the ward were clearly busy but they were always willing to help when asked and answer questions.
I would recommend this unit to others.
"Great communication and care"
