"Long wait for appointment"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I have been waiting since my referral was sent to Tameside Hospital at the end of March , and I am still waiting for an appointment now at the end of May.

I left 2 voicemails and have had one call back apologising for the delay and advising that due to covid there is a massive backlog and they are trying to establish more clinics for outpatient appointments.

My issue is that I have polyps on my uterus and my bleeding and pain can be either 1 or 100 in a matter of hours....... 

TGH is severely under-staffed and it is us, the users, who are suffering.

A member of the team will be able to support you to understand the current waiting times within the department, and ensure that any appropriate advice regarding your referral is shared with you. We have also shared your feedback with the Booking and Scheduling Team so that they can liaise with the relevant clinical team regarding this.
