I was recently boarded on ward 23 for two weeks when there were no beds on ward 44.
I have been admitted three times in the last six months, the two times previous times being admitted to ward 44. I have had several negative experiences on ward 44 in the past and my anxiety is now very high at the thought of being moved to ward 44.
All staff on ward 23 were beyond amazing. N/As went out their way to ensure you had everything you needed and were extremely helpful and kind. All nursing staff were excellent, friendly and made you feel at ease.
I have to give a shout out to nurse Carly who was amazing. When I was upset she went above and beyond to make sure I was ok. She is such an asset to ward 23!
I would like to also give a shout out to Dr Francis and Dr Woods who did everything they could to give me the best treatment possible even though I was a GI patient on a cardiology ward. Dr Woods also managed to get pain management to see me on the ward (I have been waiting years to see pain management) and I have a follow up in June. She also spent a lot of time talking over a possible new diagnosis, make sure I understood everything.
All in all, I have to say all the staff on ward 23 showed me how a patient should and can be treated while in hospital. I did not have one single negative experience or interaction with any ward 23 cleaner, N/A, nurse, doctor or consultant. My only negative experience was the way I was spoken to by a doctor who came down from ward 44 to see me.
I would just like to take this opportunity to give a huge thank you to everyone involved in my care.
"Excellent care by all staff on ward 23"
