The reception staff at this GP surgery are unhelpful and rude. I understand the NHS is under pressure but this is a problem that has been going on for the past 5 years. Rang for some advice and was bluntly told “It’s 8:30 for appointments”. I began to explain my issue and was rudely cut off “Well call 111”. After informing them I’d already rang 111 who advised to try my GP as it was still within opening times and walk in centres are extremely busy, the receptionist bluntly repeated “It’s 8:30 for appointments”. They had no care at all for anything I had to say, didn’t ask any questions about my need and ignored the fact I’ve been waiting a week already. They are simply not proactive in trying to find me a solution. This is just one example of an experience that happens without fail whenever trying to book an appointment. No consideration is given to your individual circumstances or how to make receiving help accessible to the patient. I am unsure what they are doing to solve this problem as the attitude from staff seems to be this is just how it is” and he’s been going on since I’ve been a patient at this surgery
