"Staff at the scan dept were very kind and helpful"

About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital

I had a scan to check for bowel cancer on 4th April.

I have called numerous times past three week but still no email or letter letting me know if I’m clear and ok or not.

It’s now 12th May and I still haven’t heard or received any letter via Consultant .

It’s rather an anxious long wait 6 weeks after a scan to not be informed one way or another

Dear James

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. I am so sorry to hear about your recent experience, and appreciate how anxious you must feel awaiting the results of your scan. I have asked the clinical team to contact you as soon as possible. If you have not yet received any information from your Consultant then please do contact the customer care team so we can follow-up with you directly. They can be contacted at customercare@hhft.nhs.uk or 01256 486766 and will be able to contact Consultant on your behalf.

I have shared your feedback with the clinical leads of the departments. We do try and learn from all feedback, and we do appreciate you letting us know about this so that we can improve things for future patients.

Many Thanks,

Alex Whitfield

Chief Executive
