"The ward was gorgeous and the staff excellent"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Daisy Paediatric Ward Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

We came in via accident and emergency. It was very fast and they were very informative in telling me what was happening and what was wrong with my son. We were not sitting long.   It was a very good experience and the staff were lovely.

Daisy ward is gorgeous - the colours and how new it is. They got me a bed as me and my son are co-sleepers. Also, they were constantly checking on my son and were never left for a long period of time.

The staff here are really nice, they give us lots of attention and they even offered me toast as soon as we were in as I had not eaten for a good few hours.

The nurse on last night, Jennifer, was excellent. She was so good when she came in during the night to take his bloods, she did not even wake my son. One of the times I did not even wake up.

Dear Shaqq75,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am thrilled that your journey was a positive one from the ED through to Daisy Ward. I am delighted to read your kinds words that acknowledge the wonderful care and compassion all members of the team provide for children, young people and their families on the Ward. Jennifer and the team will be overwhelmed with your lovely comments which I will be sure to share with them. It is so lovely to hear that you and your son were so well taken care of.

I hope your son has improved and I wish you all the very best.

Kind regards,

Jodie
