"Patient information"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Dermatology

(as the patient),

Today I opened a report to research BAU  Contingency, as I have received a letter changing my Dermatology Appointment to another date and stating BAU.

I identified a report asking what "BAU Contingency" meant, that was dated one and a half year's ago.  Now today I have the same problem, so obviously not a thing has been done about it.

Dear Rushing

Many thanks for getting in touch. I was really disappointed to hear that letters are still being sent out with “BAU Contingency”. You are absolutely right, when we are contacting patients we need to use language that is clear and understanding and not use terms that cause confusion.

Since you posted your feedback I have contacted the team that has responsibility for setting up the patient letter templates to find out why we are still sending out letters and have asked them to look into what has happened.

I really appreciate you getting in touch, for us to be able to make changes we rely on those accessing our services to tell us what we can do better. I am sorry that you have received a letter like this, but please know that I am looking into getting this changed.

Kindest regards

Pauline
