"Excellent care for my mum after a fall"

About: New Stobhill Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a service user),

My mum had a fall outside and injured her elbow, it was very sore, swollen and badly cut.   We called 111 the following morning, we waited 20 minutes for our call to be answered, we were happy with that as we were advised the wait would be 30 minutes.  Audrey who answered the call was friendly, polite and helpful, my mum the spoke to Jen, a Physiotherapist who advised we would receive a call back from the local flow navigation centre (Glasgow), which we did, following that call a video appointment with Dr Roy was arranged.  Again Dr Roy couldn't have been more helpful, he arranged for my mum to be seen at her local Minor injuries unit an hour later, my mum was seen, had an x ray, dressing cleaned and dressed and we were back home by the early afternoon.  Thankfully nothing was broken.   We received a great service form start to finish.  Thanks to all involved in her care

Dear cmcd7

Thanks for getting in touch on Care Opinion.

I am sorry to hear about your Mum’s fall – I am glad that nothing was broken and I hope that she is recovering well. It’s great to hear that your Mum received a great service from start to finish from NHS24; the Flow Navigation Centre, and from the Minor Injuries Unit.

Please pass on my best wishes to your Mum.

Thanks again

Nicole

Dear cmcd7,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience on Care Opinion. My apologies for the lateness of my response, I have spoken with the Care Opinion team this morning and there seems to have been a technical problem the with response we posted earlier.

I am sorry to learn about your mums fall and I hope she is recovering.

It's great to see your feedback for the staff involved in caring for your mum and the great patient journey from all the team involved.

If you wish to share more info with me, then I could identify the staff who managed your call to 111 and share your Care Opinion story with them. We always like to ensure that staff see positive stories to reinforce for them how valued their care is when people call 111. You can contact me by email at Patient.Experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

Thanks Again
