I attended the MLU in February, with my sister, to check if my waters had broken. We were in the MLU for several hours while various tests were performed before I went home. My waters broke fully at home and I returned to the MLU within a few hours as labour had been established.
The care and treatment I received during this time was fantastic. The midwives were so attentive, friendly and reassuring and this included via telephone, as I called them several times between leaving hospital on the Tuesday and giving birth to my baby in the early hours of Wednesday morning. It was such a welcoming environment and they made sure that they looked after me and my husband. The senior midwife was lovely and answered my questions about induction on the Tuesday evening and also helped me to try and establish breastfeeding after my labour.
The student midwife also looking after us (Lucie) was also absolutely fantastic and spent time explaining everything to us and was so friendly and knowledgeable. I had a really positive Iabour experience and would like to thank both the midwives for their part in that.
