I came to Daisy Hill's Emergency Department after suffering from a headache.
I don't remember much of my time in A&E but I remember that the doctor who looked after me as lovely. There was a lot of waiting and I stayed overnight in the amber area, however it was difficult to get to sleep.
Up on the Female Surgical Ward the nurses have been fantastic. I would particularly like to mention student nurse Zoe, nurse Sharon as well as Victoria who was on this morning. However, all the staff members have been excellent - I have been very well looked after. The nurses have also been really good with their observations etc.
The only issue I would say I have had would be with regard to seeing medical staff. I didn't see a single medical professional for an entire day. I saw one in A&E and then was moved up onto the ward and didn't see one until the next morning. I was told I might need a lumbar puncture and so was I was waiting all day to fund out whether this was necessary and I was quite worried during this time. I would have expected at least an SHO coming to see me during this time.
However, other than this my stay has been excellent and all the staff I have met have been amazing.
"Excellent staff but I would like to have seen more doctors"
