About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Day surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

My son attended day surgery at RHC ward 1A for elective surgery.

The staff were absolutely amazing. They were so caring, explained everything to my son in simple language and put us both at ease! From nurses, HCA, surgeon, theatre staff and anaesthetist, the care was excellent.

Very happy with our experience on Monday! 

Little area for improvement in terms of check in. There’s no signage explaining patients are to wait until called into the ward. There were a lot of people waiting at 7.30am including us and no one was clear about the check in process. Minor point but very important for anxious parents ☺️

Thank you so much for posting this story for one of my units. I am extremely pleased to learn that all staff were amazing during this journey for your son. I will pass this on to all staff involved in his care.

With regards to the signage we have taken your thoughts on how we can improve this and this will indeed be taken forwards.
