My son has been struggling with his mental health due to an ongoing family issue, which resulted in him dropping out of his second year of a Level 3 course on his 18th birthday. As part of his transition from CAMHS to the Newark adult mental health team, he was offered an appointment with the employment specialist. Recognising that he was at risk of drifting aimlessly, the specialist, Raveena, actively engaged with him to set-up universal credit and get him work locally through the government's kick-start scheme. This has been an ideal introductory 6 months to work, as it was based on working 3d/wk, giving him time off and space to improve his mental health.
Support is continuing as he transfers to a long-term full time job with the same employer, with a potential apprenticeship. Raveena has provided excellent guidance, help and support and ensured that things are done promptly, both from my son and prospective employers.
