"So happy to be part of something special"

About: Community Child Health / Parenting Support Service/Signets

(as a service user),

I was referred to Signets through the hospital. I was given the opportunity to  attend a small selected group of mums that made up a little baby group that ran on a Wednesday week on week. During lockdown there was no option to do this and I felt so isolated my whole pregnancy followed by a traumatic birth so I decided to take the plunge and go.  At the time I was struggling quite a bit and very much went into myself so it was a big step and it was one of the best pushes I ever gave myself.

I attended the baby lead group that was run by the Signets group and run by 2 of the most wonderful health worker I’ve ever met! Zoley & Angela. I attended 6 weeks baby yoga, 6 weeks baby massage but then eventually got extended to the incredible baby programme. The classes were completely baby lead which gave a relaxed approach to getting to have fun while having some 1-1 baby bonding. The weeks were filled with knowledge building and confidence building, friendships were formed and it was a safe non judgmental space.

From the get go Zoley & Angela gave me and my little girl a very warm welcome and made me feel like I was exactly where I was meant to be. They were always full of chat, laughs, comforting and wise words. I attended since my daughter was 6 weeks old and only returned to work a few months back but I loved this group of girls so much I continued to book Wednesdays off work until end of Feb just to go.

I can’t thank Angela & Zoley enough for everything they do, you are both full of passion in everything you do and show compassion to everyone you meet.

Personally you helped me find my feet the days I struggled most, you both made my week with your 1 day contribution.

Zoley, you gave me some of the best advice I have ever had & always picked me up when I struggled, you have been there for me in the drop of a hat & I already miss your upbeat, quick witted humour.

Angela you are effortlessly so personal and loving, that is just who you are. Week on week Angela personally made cakes, buns and treats for the mums and the very hungry baby’s as they weened, I am vegan and she even made batches of treats just for me. Honestly you are incredible.

I have never met smarter and more talented women that are so dictated in making a difference! And that you are. Superwomen some would say.

Thank you so much, I will forever cherish the time you gave and the love and support you provided ❤️

Dear DP94

It is wonderful to receive such amazing feedback for our SIGNETs team.

I am sorry to read that you felt isolated during your pregnancy and suffered from a traumatic birth, it must have taken a lot of courage to make the decision to join the group.

It is wonderful to hear that you considered the classes baby led which gave a relaxed approach to getting to have fun while having some 1-1 baby bonding. It is a pleasure to hear that you gained knowledge and built confidence, formed friendships and considered the groups as safe and non judgmental.

I hope this has given you the groundwork to build on your relationship with your baby daughter and continue to enjoy every minute together..

I will be delighted to share this lovely feedback with Zoley, Jayne and Angela and to the wider Health Visiting Team.
