"Still no definite diagnosis or answers"

About: Raigmore Hospital / General Medicine

(as the patient),

Went into hospital just before Christmas with lightheadedness and dizziness. Was in hospital right up to mid February.

Saw a different consultant every week and each consultant had a different opinion. Got various scans etc. which I appreciated.

3 doctors said that I must have taken a stroke in December but 1 doctor said he didn’t think so. Therefore he put it down to functional limb weakness. I now get physio but is very slow progress.

I have seemingly been referred to ENT but there is a long waiting list. I was told after tests in the hospital that it wasn’t an inner ear problem.

I feel very let down by NHS not knowing what has caused the lightheadedness and now unable to walk without sticks or a walker.

I have asked my GP for a second opinion but again I feel this will take forever. I think it is terrible that after being in hospital for about 8 weeks and still no definite diagnosis or answers.

Very frustrating.
