My orthopaedic appointment letter told me to report to outpatients. When I did, I was told this was wrong and I had to go to a separate building where orthopaedics were based. No easy task as I am wheelchair based.
When I checked in at orthopaedic reception they kept asking me why I was attending as they had either no record or an inadequate record. I was then sent through to a waiting area where I was presented with a long questionnaire about my shoulder pain. I was, in fact, attending for an examination of a swollen elbow. I was seen by a doctor who said that there was no need for treatment so all in all, this was a complete waste of half a day, when I should have been at work.
