"I was overwhelmed by her kindness"

I had an accident on my bike and had to attend Ninewells A&E after being knocked unconscious. My wait was about twenty minutes. The standard of care I received was absolutely excellent and they couldn't have been nicer. I was transferred to orthopaedic receiving, as I had fractured my pelvis, and had an overnight stay. I wasn't feeling too great in the morning which I put down to not having had a coffee for twenty-four hours. One of the doctors came to see me and asked if I'd like a coffee from the hospital cafe, which she then went to get. It happened to be my birthday and when she'd returned she'd written "Happy Birthday" on the lid. I was overwhelmed by her kindness! I needed further treatment for a fractured thumb. Another doctor very kindly organised an appointment for me back in Glasgow where I come from. I'm so very proud of our NHS and Ninewells are a superb part of a wonderful organisation.
