I have been in and out of Victoria hospital Kirkcaldy whilst the GI team and ward 44 staff have offered excellent care to get to them bottom of what maybe the source of my ill health.
Today I attended a colonoscopy as an in-patient.
I wish to say to others who may be concerned regarding this procedure please don’t!
Dr Shams carried out the procedure assisted by Wilma and Kerry and I felt completely comfortable and positive throughout. I took a small amount of medication and was reassured if more was needed they would administer.
I was able to listen clearly while they described what was being done every step and also lucid enough to question why. I am back in the ward now feeling comfortable and confident about the procedure and would not hesitate to have one again if required.
This is my second entry on this site as Dr Shams made things much easier for me to have an endoscopy in recent times therefore I was confident being in his care and that in turn helps.
Thank you to the hard working staff and GI team on ward 44.
"Comfortable and positive throughout"
