About: Red Bank Group Practice

Moved doctors already due to poor practices / service once already.. however this is rapidly becoming the same.

Called to see a doctor about my baby’s cough as it progressed throughout the week. Explained symptoms and was informed that no dr could be seen. Received a further call from receptionist informing she had spoken with the doctor and the symptoms my baby was displays were that of dehydration and a trip to a and e was to be completed immediately. Asked for GP referral to help with seriousness/urgency and was informed the dr doesn’t do this, but as they were a baby, would be prioritised.

14 hours later from Hospital we, as a family returned home. The baby was not prioritised as the receptionist assured me the would be.

Please ensure your information is accurate before providing it.. unfortunately for something like that a receptionists opinion won’t count/help.

Your comments have been noted and acknowledged. We are sorry that you have felt the service is not working for you. As with all feedback received, our clinical team have a discussion to talk about experiences such as you describe to see if there are any learning points, if at all, for the practice to recognise. As a practice response, if a baby does need to go to A&E, a direct letter to the Hospital Paediatrician is offered which allows you to be prioritised upon arrival. A clinician usually speaks to the parents initially and if needed, the Hospital Paediatrician as well. The urgent or seriousness is for the GP to advise on although there will be times when there is very limited information and the child would need to be admitted if very unwell.Our Practice Manager will be happy to speak to you regarding your experience but as the comment is anonymous we are unable to contact you directly.
