"My daughter's operation"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Paediatric surgery ( Wards 3A & 3B)

(as a parent/guardian),

Our daughter was 1 year 2 months old when she came along to the team at Glasgow for her craniofacial operation.

Our daughter had a unsymmetrical head and face shape, we had consultation appointments before the operation happened with the team in Edinburgh and then Glasgow, we were so scared for her operation although she would never know it. Remember this it was a stressful time for us as her parents as we expected the worst.

From the minute we started speaking to Lauren to get this operation booked in to arriving, every single staff member was amazing with us from start to finish!

The morning of her operation was the scariest day of our lives but again the team at Glasgow children’s ward got us through with their fantastic support.

After our daughter came back round and we got to see her it was a massive relief as what we expected wasn’t there. The next few days were tough seeing her wee face swollen but again was nowhere near what we expected and she recovered amazing within the week.

On behalf of myself my partner and my daughter we can’t thank enough the children's ward, the surgeons and everyone else who played a massive role in her time at the hospital.

The outcome of this operation is amazing and the staff are absolutely fantastic I have never been to a hospital and felt so welcomed and had that much support from all involved!

Again we can’t thank yous enough.

Lots of love.

Hi Demip96,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback.

I am so pleased to hear that everything went so smoothly and that you felt we helped to make a very scary time for you all a little better. It is lovely to hear.

I will make sure that all the Teams involved in your daughter's care see your feedback and I am sure they will be delighted with all the lovely things you have said about them.

I hope your daughter is continuing to recover well at home?

Thankyou again for your thoughts,

Catriona Riddell

Lead Nurse
