"Hit-and-miss"

About: Carisbrooke Surgery

Been a patient here for a couple of years now, seem to have a different GP every time. I spoke to a female one about endometriosis who was very helpful and friendly, I spoke to a male one about mental health problems, being underweight and lack of appetite and was told if it wasn't anorexia/bullimia (i.e. to do with body image) I was going to struggle to get help on the NHS but he told me they could refer me on to someone else still, which I said yes to but I never heard from anyone again, that was over a year ago now.

Called in last week to see about changing my name as I shortened it by deed poll recently, was told I needed to bring the original certificate in for them to photocopy and keep on file. Brought it in the next day, a different receptionist laughed and rolled her eyes at me when she looked at my deed poll (I changed my last name for private reasons, not for marriage/divorce, it's legal, DVLA and passport have accepted it, so not sure why she felt the need to be hurtful), and was very condesending and offputting, and asked why I didn't bring in a photocopy because they would have to keep the original I'd brought in because she wasn't going to photocopy it for me, so I left it with her. Then the next day a different receptionist called me asking why I'd left my deed poll there as they would happily have photocopied it for me (?!) so I went and picked it up later that day - sometimes there are kind and helpful receptionists (which is obviously what you want at a GP surgery) and some are not so nice and probably shouldn't be in a people-facing role. Different GP every time who I think try their best but are obviously over-worked.
