My story starts in Dec 2015. Had a car accident and needed an amputation of my lower right leg.Was in hospital and rehab for 4 months.I was never alone to really grasp the severity of it all and also how drastically my life was changing.
When i first arrived home,i was busy physically and mentality trying to navigate my way around my home, getting chores done etc. It I was also getting visits from overseas family and friends, going to numerous hospital appointments. as well as people who supported me during my hospital stay. It was not till the beginning of 2018 when I realised how my life has changed.I use to love getting in the car and going for long rives or just taken long walks with my husband.
My mood started getting worse,I was angry,I was hurt,I became a reclusive. Never answered the door or answered the phone.when i had to go out or for my appointments,i wore a mask(figuratively)to show everyone I was doing great.
I did not think i would benefit from counselling when my GP suggested..Fast forward to 2022, after another session with my GP,she referred me and I agreed under my breath. Was still sceptical when Ealing team called to make an appointment for an assessment. It was agreed that my therapist will be Eunice. I was pretty hesitant and reluctant to give it a go but somehow she managed to get me to open up and got me talking a lot about
my feelings i had buried for so many years..
We had 4 sessions and i can truly say that i wholeheartedly thank her for not giving up on me.She introduced me to tools that i find useful.More importantly, she taught me how to forgive myself
EUNICE, I THANK YOU
