Received very poor treatment from a professional member of staff in the Colposcopy Dept. in The Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh in 2019. When discussing possible cancer diagnosis they very dramatically used their fingers to explain how likely the possibility was, which seemed very casual, yet terrifying. I was given no time to prepare for treatment and removal of part of my cervix.
They spoke very rushed, mumbled, and with such a heavy accent that I could not understand what they were telling me. This was terrifying, especially considering it was regarding possible cervical cancer.
At the end of one of my treatments, they advised me in front of my mother simply to go have babies!
I had to undergo another two procedures this year, including an emergency procedure following a haemorrhage, which would have been extremely dangerous to have children. A midwife appointment later on in the year explained it was unfortunately not as simple as going and having babies and therefore this advice was extremely poor and unrevised.
"Extremely poor advice"
