About: Spire South Bank Hospital

It is such a shame that when going for an initial consultation about a cancer diagnosis a wife is not allowed to attend with her husband. This is very distressing

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and we are sorry you were unable to attend a consultation with your husband.

During the pandemic our aim was to prioritise the health, safety and wellbeing of our patients and to reduce the footfall throughout our hospital, we therefore asked patients to attend their appointments on their own.

We did however recognise that the restricted visiting could be difficult for some patients and there were certain circumstances when a patient was allowed to be accompanied by one visitor. We were so sorry to read that you had not been aware of this information and for this, we sincerely apologise.

Kind regards

Julie
