I found myself in a hospital for the first time in 30 years. I was anxious, felt dreadful, and needed help. My doctor referred me to A&E. I was quickly triaged and taken to Emergency ENT clinic.
The ENT doctors decided I should stay overnight and I was quickly found a bed (albeit squeezed into a treatment room) and my care planned out. I cannot thank the NHS staff throughout the process enough. Every single staff member was kind, thoughtful, professional, and took time to make me feel comfortable. I felt very safe in their hands. Which is, I think, very important when you are scared and not sure what is going on. They were always busy, but seemed not to mind when I had to interrupt them. At no time was I ever fobbed off. The medical care was second to none too. Every avenue was checked and explained before the procedure, during, and after. Communication was first class.
