(as a service user),

I recently attended my scan and was a bit shocked at how abrupt the sonographer was. It put a dampener on what should have been a magical day for us, now a week later we’re still talking about how we were made to feel. The sonographer has scanned me before and was much cheerier that time, I can only assume something was wrong that day and yes we’re human and can’t be on all the time but that’s now my memory of what should have been a special day.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Thank-you very much for taking the time to contact us through Care Opinion, we very much appreciate that this is a busy time for you.

I was very disappointed to read of your experience as it should have been as you so rightly refer to it as a magical day. We have discussed your feedback with the team involved and can assure you that they have reflected on both your experience and also the impact this has had on your memory of the day. Although we are not clear what sonographer was involved in your ultrasound they would wish to reiterate that their focus is primarily on patient experience and quality and are therefor sorry that this was not delivered to you that day.

I wish you all the very best for the remainder of your pregnancy and look forward to welcoming you and your baby within our unit soon,
