Went into the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital In Govan, Glasgow to have my baby boy. This was a planned section due to my previous birth experience. From the minute I was admitted the care was next to none, in recovery before the operation I was greeted by Judith, which I feel I owe my life too, she was amazing from start to finish. From the elective anaesthetist to the surgeon, everyone was amazing and put me at total ease. After the operation, Judith looked after me in recovery and then took me up to ward 50 in post natal.
I cannot thank these people enough. They went above and beyond daily, luckily I had a great experience and was out of hospital within two days, however this is only thanks to the amazing midwife’s and midwife assistants on that ward. I cannot thank Mary, Lorna, Georgia, Elizabeth and Annie enough. My son was admitted back into hospital at one week old for phototherapy for jaundice and I was readmitted to ward 50 with him for 3 nights where I was familiar with midwife’s which made the world of difference.
I also want to thank Jackie midwife assistant and Jackie domestic cleaner who also kept my spirits up and at all times made sure I was comfortable. Having people like this around you sure makes your experience a lot greater and much more of a positive experience. I don’t know how to thank these people who do this sort of thing day in day out. You really are special people and the world needs more just like you all. The care at the queen Elizabeth university hospital is excellent.
I also dealt with fetal medicine dept for a brief while, Carla was my baby’s doctor and she also is amazing at what she does and keeping you calm and well informed. Luckily I don’t have any dealings with this dept going forward but if I did I would be sure I was in good hands.
"Amazing from start to finish"
