This was our second attempt, as last week we were 'run' off the road by a speeding close driver, and were unable to attend as we had a tyre blowout after striking the kerb at 70mph. So we nearly arrived as inpatients!
We were met at reception by a very friendly nurse, then Brian came for us. He was very good, clear and concise, explaining everything to my wife and myself. I should explain that I am my wife's carer after her brain injury in 2001.
I was allowed to stay with my wife until the procedure began, and I waited in another part of the hospital, missing the public access to the Corton View restaurant.
I was called when my wife returned to the 'ward' and then we had the discharge debrief. My wife was very impressed with her care, and to remember one nurse, Sarah in particular. They said goodbye to my wife like you would to an old friend.
On a different matter, I should be on 'a' ward, and ED ward as a volunteer soon. What some folk will do to gain access back to the restaurant! lol
