I was overwhelmed by work and suddenly began to feel unwell, confused, and distressed. I took a leave, however I found that the longer I stayed at home the more these negative feelings festered. I was constantly overthinking about my situation and the events leading up to it. How did I allow this to happen to me?
Why now? Somewhere along the line, I started to share my feelings with some of my ex-colleagues (who had been through similar situations) and they offered great support, but I still did not feel one hundred percent better. I was determined to recover without medication, despite the doctors offers. Eventually, I decided to go for counselling. After a self-referral to the Ealing IAPT, for about 3 months I underwent self-help guide sessions with an amazing and professional psychological wellbeing practitioner, Khrystal. With her guide, support and my commitment to get better, I now feel confident and worthy again!
