After a long wait I was finally called to get a hysteroscopy and polyp removal at the Royal Infirmary. I was quite nervous and tried hard not to show it but the team was so excellent and caring that they saw through me straightaway. I was so grateful for their compassion throughout the whole procedure.
When I arrived I was explained in detail what they were going to do and given time to ask any questions, I didn't feel rushed at all. Then they started the procedure and two nurses joined. At one point I felt unwell and one of the nurses (I think her name was Dawn?) held my hand.
Empathy and compassion are really important to me and I was extremely grateful to feel that my pain and anxiety were taken into account throughout the procedure. On top of it all that they were all really nice people with a good sense of humour. It's difficult to maintain that attitude in this day and age so kudos to them all! :)
I believe I was seen by Dr Rice, Gabby, Dawn and someone else whose name I can't quite recall (I was nervous, sorry). Apologies if I got any names wrong, I just thought it was important to thank them regardless. I wish I come across health professionals like them in the future!
